This includes support for students residing onsite as part of our Boarding House community.Reporting to the Dean of Students, the successful candidate will promote mental health and wellbeing as well as supporting the management of students with emotional and behavioural challenges. You will also be required to identify, support, and refer for further treatment young people who may be challenged by mental health and related school and family complexities.This role is open to trained child Psychologists, Provisional Psychologists or suitably qualified and experienced School Counsellors or Teachers with relevant postgraduate qualifications in Psychology and/or Guidance and Counselling. Your experience and/or ability to work within a complex school environment will support your success in this space.Part-time or full-time opportunities are available to support the service on a fixed-term basis for the 2026 school year.WHAT YOU WILL BRINGTo be successful in this role, you will have experience as a Provisional/Registered Psychologist or School Guidance Counsellor in an educational setting with a focus on prevention, intervention, and student learning, as well as:Ability to facilitate proactive and preventative practices and initiatives that promote social, emotional, and educational development and the mental health and wellbeing in children and young people. Experience within an educational environment would be highly advantageous.Experience managing counselling and consulting services for students (with personal, social, emotional, vocational, and educational needs) with a focus on prevention, intervention and student learning.Experience in providing support and leadership in response to student protection issues, critical incidents, and risk management.Demonstrated experience providing psycho-educational and other assessments as required.Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation capabilities. Demonstrated high order capability in the provision of effective school administration.
